The International Day of Zero Waste is observed on March 30th every year to raise awareness about the importance of reducing waste and promoting sustainable consumption practices. It aims to create a world where waste doesn't exist through reducing, reusing, and recycling. 

The event highlights the need to prevent waste from reaching landfills, oceans, and the environment to protect the planet and ensure future generations have a sustainable world to live in. 

The theme of Zero Waste Day changes every year, and it often focuses on a particular area, such as Circular Economy: Sustainable Consumption and Production. 

The day's events and activities include beach cleanups, litter pickups, workshops, and swap meets, and businesses also play a vital role in promoting Zero Waste by adopting sustainability practices.

In this regard, Babol Noshirvani University of technology has also taken some actions that are worth mentioning.
 Actions such as: 
- supports paperless system to reduce paper in daily workplace
- solutions of reusable paper (using 2-side of paper)
- banning the use of plastic bags and disposable containers
- consider a place for waste seperation 
- purchase and equip of waste seperation bins
